Yes, we have walked 9 days, and still going. Wonderful refugio today with this computer to make post. Not sure about pics, we´ll see…
Carol doing great. Meeting lots of folks and loving every serendipitous moment and conversation. Camino walkers have much in common, and most do not seem to really know how to verbalize why here, especially the spiritual component. Carol digs!
The scenery every day is a knockout, and we have TIME to see it, every pebble, every twig, but also every vista!
Today was cold and windy, but the rain held off until we stopped here in Azofra. Look it up on the map if you want to see how far we´ve come, or not…
Yikes, this is a long walk… Every night we have dinner with folks from all over the world, which is interesting. The wine is wonderful, as I knew it would be, and the food simple but filling. We seem to have a divine appointment every day with at least one Pilgrim, learning of their struggle with the faith, if they have one, and one thing seems common: religion vs relationship. We try to help them, but we are helped more, I´m sure, as we confront the truths we are attempting to impart. So far these encounters have been very anointed, as God opens up the hearts to go where they don´t usually go. Carol is especially good at this, and it is wonderful to just be around her. She is holding up so very well! Who knew?
Blessings upon you today. Keep praying for us and know that we are busy too.

A wonder to be able to walk with you both.!
Carol ,you have a VERY supportive husband as you probably already appreciate
.
Love and God’s blessings to you . Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.
SuzAnne and Dave too
How wonderful to be able to share your pilgrimage through Spain. Many are praying for you both. I pray for strength, blessings and good weather as you journey Camino de Santiago. We miss you both and look forward to your safe return to Banks, Oregon.
God guide your steps, Sandra
P.S. Carol, you will be missed at the Ladies Retreat 🙂
Skip and carol, I feel like I am along with you. your discriptions of the beauty you are seeing in people and creation confirms the reason we are living. We were all meant for this in what ever way we find it. I experienced the depth of God’s beauty in two people the day I shared with Janice as Linda shaved her head. Linda’s beautiful heart was revealed in such a tough time and Janice’s inner beauty still shines through her brave smile. We are all sharing “level 4” with people and creation in all the opportunities that come our way.
I wait with eager expectation the next installment of your body’s groanings and your spirit’s soaring. Love you both, carol
Happy Birthday Carol!
A prayer by the late Brennan Manning. We read it just before we saw you last post:
Abba, I surrender my will and my life to you today, without reservation and with humble confidence., for you are my loving Father. Set me free from self-consciousness, from anxiety about tomorrow, and from the tyranny of the approval and disapproval of others, that I may find joy and delight simply and solely in pleasing you. May my inner freedom be a compelling sign of your presence, your peace, your power, and your love. Let your plan for my life and the lives of all your children gracefully unfold one day at a time. I love you with all my heart, and I place all my confidence in you for you are my Abba.
Walk on with your Abba!
Love, Ed and Carol
Good evening, dear Carol and Skip,
You are both doing so amazingly well…and that doesn’t surprise me with your preparedness, but even more so your attitude and heart and how you have approached this entire journey. I am reminded of 1 John 3:2… “What we will be has not yet been made known.” Oh how our Lord, the Potter, will use this to make you even more like Him. That is so awesome and I look forward to your return home safely when that part of the journey is ended (realizing the journey continues even when the Camino pilgrimage comes to an end) and then hearing in more depth of your experiences, insights, epiphanies, etc.
Know you are in our prayers and in our hearts..and praying that each step you take is directed by Him. Be safe, be well and drink in every moment…fully alive and enjoying this amazing thing He drew you into.
We love you,
Cheryl and Norm
